Dinner time

Todays dinner (I'm trying to get back into blogging...) was a steak, some zucchini and squash, and tortellini.

The steak was marinated in wine, garlic, pepper and 'lemon pepper' which, as near as I can tell is msg and some papain or... meat tenderizer. regardless, it was baked in the oven at 350 for about 15 min. Steak was pretty darn good, but.....

Baking is a poor substitute for broiling, you see, we have propane out here in the country and we had to have the stove converted from Natural Gas when we bought it. We were told you can't convert the broiler from the gauge for Natural Gas so if you use the broiler- it kind of looks like the gates of hell in your oven. This doesnt seem all that plausible to me. If you can convert the burners and the oven, why not the broiler??? Soooo...if there's anyone out there who might read this and could help with this little problem, get in touch!

Anyway, tortellini was served with a little oil and some cheese. Zucchini and squash were sauteed and steak was topped with pan sauteed confetti peppers and onions from birds eye... very useful for adding color and flavor to steak, eggs etc. etc...

useful for adding color to this blog post.
