I signed up for the A-Z blog challenge. I have to write a post per day for the next 26 days using each letter of the alphabet. I'm going to try one veggie, one fruit as my theme. I can see this getting ugly around 'Q' though. I reserve the right to do whatever I want if it comes down to it :). Hope you enjoy!
A is obviously for apple, or asparagus.
Apple tart
Grease and flour a 10" tart pan
Slice two green apples very thinly and lay them in the tart pan.
Sprinkle with blueberries, raspberries or currants.
In a blender- combine 2 eggs, 3/4 cup whole milk, 1/4 cup sugar, 2tbsp whole meal flour, 1tsp vanilla.
Pour over fruit.
Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes or until set.
Serve cold or at room temp with whipped cream.
Asparagus tart
Grease and flour a 10" tart pan
Slice up your asparagus in to bite size bits and put them in the tart pan.
Sprinkle 1/2 cup grated Gruyere cheese.
In a blender- combine 2 eggs, 3/4 cup whole milk, 2tbsp whole meal flour, plus salt & pepper to taste.
Pour over asparagus & cheese.
Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes or until set.
Let cool 10min or so before serving.
Simple and delicious! And anything with cheese is wonderful :)
