We're off to America, land of swine as food. My sister is making us a pork loin for dinner when we get to New York. Yippie! Cant wait.
And on Sunday I'm having my cousin and her new baby to breakfast. AMERICAN Bacon will be heavily featured.
It really isnt that big a deal to forgoe pork while living in the Dar al Islam. Its available, but its violently expensive and tends to suffer from freezer burn by the time you get it home. The cold cuts are ok, but are also way too pricey to be anything other than an occasional treat.
My dear husband used to sneak it in from Italy but since swine flu, its become against the law to import it.
